VW T-Roc
VW recently presented the brand new and unique T-Roc. It has become a crossover that combines the advantages of a compact SUV with the ease of driving and agility of a hatchback. This new VW features, among other things, a striking design, a wide range of assistance and infotainment systems and many options for personalization to your own taste. We went out with the 1.0 TSI with 115 hp.
Motorizations
The new T-Roc is available with three TSI petrol engines and three TDI diesel engines. They are offered in three power versions: 115 hp, 150 hp and a whopping 190 hp. The 115 hp engines are equipped with front-wheel drive and a manual gearbox. You can choose the 150 hp version with front-wheel or four-wheel drive and a DSG-7. If you choose 190 hp, you get a DSG-7 and 4MOTION as standard.

The new T-Roc is available from 21,500 euros for a 1.0 TSI. For a 2.0 TDI 4MOTION in Elegance version you should count on a budget of at least 34,100 euros.
1.0 TSI
We were introduced to the T-Roc through a test drive with the 1.0 TSI. This has a petrol engine with a capacity of 999 cc. The power is 115 hp with a max. torque of 200 Nm. The compact crossover accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 10.1 seconds. and has a top speed of 187 km/h. On paper these are not very exciting figures, but in practice the car feels very quick and dynamic. Despite its smaller cylinder capacity, you do not have the feeling that you have too little power. It is a shame that you cannot opt for a DSG for this version, because it is much easier to use. We would rather go for the petrol version with 150 hp and an automatic transmission.
Innovative driver assistance systems
The new T-Roc has numerous driver assistance systems as standard and optional. For example, you get the anti-multi-crash braking function, the lane keeping assistant Lane Assist and the Front Assist environmental perception system including pedestrian detection and emergency braking function for the city as standard on every model. You can then personalize the T-Roc even further with a number of optional systems. There is, among other things, a traffic jam assistant and a parking system Park Assist including parking assistance braking function, which in our opinion are certainly worth considering.
Three equipment levels
The T-Roc is available in three equipment levels. You have the basic version and above it there are two equivalent higher equipment levels Style and Sport. With the help of this matrix, the new T-Roc can be further personalized according to different individual wishes.
Nice infotainment systems
The display of the infotainment system is one of the best in our opinion. It looks very premium and the display gives a clear and sharp image. Personally, we would consider the optional ‘Discover Media’ navigation system. It is equipped with a 20.3 cm (8 inch) color touch screen. You also get six speakers, FM radio reception, a CD player that also plays music in MP3, AAC and WMA formats, two SD card readers, a USB interface and Bluetooth for connecting a mobile phone. telephone.
Another option that, in our opinion, offers added value is the Active Info Display. Then you get a digital instrument cluster with a high-resolution TFT color screen and a diameter of no less than 31 cm (12.3 inches). You can then use the various information profiles to set which data you want to display in the instrument panel, in addition to the standard meters such as tachometer, speedometer and odometer.
Conclusion:
The T-Roc is a striking newcomer with a handsome, fresh and dynamic appearance. The engines are powerful and this crossover is available with many nice options such as an Active Info Display or the latest driver assistance systems.
