Jaguar F-PACE 3.0 D
The F-PACE is inspired by the C-X17 concept car and has become the most practical sports car in Jaguar’s range. The F-PACE combines maximum driving pleasure with practicality. The F-PACE uses a lightweight aluminum architecture, making it strong, rigid and very light at the same time. We went out with a 300 hp R-SPORT diesel.
Gamma
The range of the brand new Jaguar F-PACE consists of five different models. The entry-level model is the PURE from 44,180 euros. If it could be even more luxurious, there is the PRESTIGE from 47,730 euros. This model has a beautifully finished interior with leather upholstery. The F-PACE PORTFOLIO (51,780 euros) is the pinnacle of luxury with all the latest technology. Fans of a sporty version can opt for the R-SPORT (50,430 euros). This model has, among other things, a sporty jacket and sports seats. The F-PACE S is the sportiest model and starts at €73,230.
In terms of engines, there are various options to choose from. There is a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder turbo diesel with 180 hp from the Ingenium range. There is also a powerful 3.0 liter V6 turbo diesel with 300 hp. The 3.0 liter V6 petrol engine with compressor, which we also find on F-TYPE, is available in variants with 340 and 380 hp.
3.0D R Sport
We were introduced to the new Jaguar F-PACE through a test drive with the R-SPORT 3.0 diesel. This model has a V6 turbodiesel engine with six cylinders as its beating heart. This block delivers a power of 300 hp and an impressive max. torque of no less than 700 Nm. With this engine, the F-PACE sprints to 100 km/h in a smooth 6.2 seconds. The top speed is 241 km/h. For transmission, this model has an 8-speed automatic gearbox from ZF.
The all-new F-PACE can be optionally equipped with an advanced all-wheel drive (AWD) system, which in turn is further enhanced with the Intelligent Driveline Dynamics (IDD) system. The 3.0D is equipped with AWD as standard. Under normal driving conditions, 100% of the power is sent to the rear wheels. The advantage of this is that it makes the F-PACE feel like a sporty, dynamic car with rear-wheel drive. This certainly cannot be achieved with a conventional permanent four-wheel drive system. However, if there is a need for more traction, the IDD system will send power to the front axle in a fraction of a second.
The R-Sport model has supplemented the equipment of the PURE model with specific options. This includes 19-inch alloy wheels, an R-Sport exterior kit, sports seats with leather upholstery and Bi-xenon headlights. The R-Sport exterior kit consists of a body-colored R-Sport front and rear bumper and door handles with Satin Black finish. Personally, we would certainly consider even larger rims. Such a car always looks better with larger footwear. You can also optionally choose beautiful 22-inch rims with 15 or 9 spokes.
InControl Touch Pro
The optional InControl Touch Pro is the most advanced infotainment system Jaguar has ever designed. You will then get, among other things, a larger and faster 10.2-inch touchscreen in the center of the center console. You can also personalize this screen with widgets, among other things. You also get a fully digital instrument cluster with virtual dials, which can also display full-screen 3D navigation maps. You can also choose from one of four graphic themes for the digital dashboard. The navigation system also contains nice extras, such as that the system warns if there is insufficient fuel in the tank for the selected destination or that it automatically shows where you can park.
Conclusion
The Jaguar F-PACE feels like a well-thought-out car that has been finished down to the last detail. On the outside it looks like a real jaguar and has become a very handsome and elegant appearance. The 3.0 V6 feels sharp and sporty, the sound is rather subdued. In terms of technology, the F-PACE is certainly up to date and you can also further personalize this SUV with numerous advanced driver assistance systems.
