POV test drive video with the 2014 VW XL1

The VW XL1 was produced in 2013/2014 on a limited edition of 250 units. The XL1 was developed as a 1-liter car, to consume a maximum of 1 liter of diesel per 100 km. The XL1 is a diesel plug-in hybrid with a 0.8 diesel engine and a 20 kW electric motor. System power is 51 kW and 140 Nm max torque. The XL1 is rear-wheel drive with a DSG 7-speed automatic transmission. Top speed is 160 km/h and the XL1 goes from 0-100 km/h in 12.7 sec. The price of the test car is 111,000 €. I was able to borrow the car from the Volkswagen Contact Center. You can normally find the XL1 in the showroom there as well.
